This plant might originate from the rainforests of Thailand, Borneo and Malaysia, but it will live quite happily in your home. You'll know when your schismatoglottis wallichii needs a drink because the leaves will start to droop and the top two inches of soil will feel dry.
 
Care:
As a tropical houseplant, it enjoys moist soil but not waterlogged. Always check the soil before watering it again! Avoid overwatering and wet feet. Water only when the top layer of soil has dried out, and be sure to empty excess water from the pot or saucer to avoid “wet feet”.
